Dylan’s Story

About Dylan “Foreign” Jenkins

Dylan was an incredible young man with an incredible future ahead of him. Dylan “Foreign” Jenkins grew up in Sarasota, Florida, where he recently graduated from Riverview High School. He was a star athlete, excelling in both Football and Track. After high school, Dylan attended Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan where he was fulfilling his dream of playing college athletics. Dylan had an infectious smile, unmatched sense of humor, and supreme ability to brighten everyone’s day. He genuinely loved all his family, friends, teammates, and coaches. Everyone that knew him, knew he was a devoted Baltimore Ravens fan – through good seasons and bad. He enjoyed life to the fullest, worked hard, and always put his family first. He helped anyone who needed it and rallied others to find the humor in life.  He was a light in our family’s life, adored by all…

Tragically, Dylan’s life was taken from us by a senseless act of gun violence on December 29th, 2021. He was an unintended victim of someone else’s argument, while hanging out with friends while home for Christmas break. Although we cannot change the events of that horrific night, we can honor his memory and continue his legacy of bringing joy and laughter to others, and providing opportunities for youth in our community…just as he would have done! We also pledge to support the efforts of Gun Violence Prevention and Mental Health Awareness in our community, as these issues have impacted our family, community, and country so deeply.
